Know more about Micheal Phelps

Michael Phelps Biography

from notablebiographies.com

Michaelphelps Young American swimmer Michael Phelps has broken several world records in his sport. Even his record breaking has broken new records: he was the first swimmer ever to shatter two world records in individual events during a single day, and was the first to swim five new fastest times at a world championship meet. Phelps, whose best stroke is the butterfly, is said to possess the perfect build for competitive swimming. He stands more than six-foot four inches in height, and his wingspan, as it is called, is even longer: from finger to finger he measures six-foot seven inches across. These attributes have given him an edge in the highly competitive sport, but those who know him say that it is his inner drive, focus on achieving goals, and likeable personality that make him a winner.

Discovered Olympic potential

Phelps was born on June 30, 1985, and grew up in the Baltimore suburb of Towson. His mother, Debbie, is an administrator with the Baltimore County school system. He has two older sisters, and began swimming when they joined a local swim team. "At first, I was a little scared to put my head underwater, so I started with the backstroke," Phelps told Frank Litsky, a sportswriter for the New York Times, adding, "I was still scared because I don't think I had goggles."

Phelps's parents quickly recognized their son's talent. When he was eleven years old, they brought him to a top swim coach, Bob Bowman (c. 1964–). After watching him swim, Bowman agreed to take over his training at a Baltimore-area swim club. Bowman predicted that Phelps would be Olympic-caliber material by the time he was fifteen, and might look forward to going to the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney, Australia. Phelps was thrilled by the idea, especially since one of his sisters had qualified for the U.S. women's swim team at the 1996 Summer Games but was sidelined by an injury.

When Bowman told Phelps that he had Olympic potential, the twelve-year-old gave up his other sports, which were soccer, lacrosse, and baseball, in order to bring all his energy to daily pool practice. He began winning every competitive event he entered. The first time he lost, however, he was so upset that he threw down his goggles. Bowman warned him about his unsportsmanlike conduct, and since then Phelps has taken his handful of setbacks in stride.

"It's when your body is not in the best situation, your mind is not in the best situation and things are against you those are the times that really count and really matter you overcome and rise to the occasion."

Those setbacks included his first-ever U.S. national championships, in the summer of 1999. He finished in last place in the 200-meter butterfly. He bounced back at the 2000 U.S. spring nationals to take a third place finish, and then became a surprise qualifier for the Sydney Olympics later that year. When he arrived with the rest of the U.S. swim team, he was the youngest American male swimmer to enter an Olympic contest since 1932. He had qualified for just one event, the 200-meter butterfly, and finished in fifth place.

Began setting new records

Michaelphelpsspeedo A few months later, in early 2001, Phelps surprised everyone once again. At the U.S. spring nationals, he became the youngest male swimmer to set a world record. The event that marked this accomplishment was the 200-meter butterfly. He was just fifteen years and nine months old at the time. At the age of sixteen, he decided to give up his chances for a college athletic scholarship by signing an endorsement deal with swimsuit maker Speedo.

Phelps soon began breaking world records in every event he entered. In August of 2002, at the U.S. National Swimming Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he set a world record in the 400-meter individual medley. The following April, at the 2003 U.S. spring nationals hosted by Indiana University, he beat his own world record in the 400-meter individual medley. Rocky Mountain News journalist Jody Berger wrote that Phelps "flies across a pool like water is someone else's problem. He doesn't punch his way through the wet stuff but hydroplanes across its surface at a speed few humans can match."

The official Indiana meet was followed by a special contest between American and Australian swimmers billed as the "Duel in the Pool." The United States and Australia have each produced several top swimmers in the modern era of the sport, and there is an intense national rivalry between the two countries. But Phelps's biggest rival, Australian champion Ian Thorpe (1982–), was ill with meningitis-like symptoms and did not compete, creating much interest in what would happen in a contest between the two swimmers at the World Championships in Barcelona, Spain, in July of 2003.

Thorpe, three years older than Phelps, is a huge star in Australia. Sportswriters there call him "Thorpedo." He won three gold medals at the 2000 Sydney Games, and was also a world record holder. Their rivalry heated up in June of 2003, when Thorpe's coach told the press that Phelps was not yet a serious threat. "The promise with Phelps is there, but for people saying he's going to outdo Thorpie, I live to see that day," Sports Illustrated writer Brian Cazeneuve quoted coach Don Talbot as saying.

Called the next Mark Spitz

Phelps bested Thorpe in nearly every contest in Barcelona in late July of 2003, and it made the American the new star in competitive swimming. He won five medals and set an astonishing five world records. The first came in the 100-meter butterfly semifinal, and the next came when he broke his own record in the 200-meter individual medley, besting Thorpe by a large margin in that contest. His own American teammate, Ian Crocker (1982–), broke Phelps's 100-meter butterfly record in the finals, but Phelps went on to take part in two relay races that each won a gold medal. His last two world records were set in the 400-meter individual medley and the 200-meter butterfly.

Phelps was seemingly unstoppable. Just a short time later, at the U.S. summer nationals in College Park, Maryland, he won five of the fourteen gold medals awarded, becoming the first male swimmer ever to do that at a U.S. nationals event. With such a promising start, the eighteen-year-old was called the next Mark Spitz (1950–). Phelps had heard the name before, as he recalled in an interview with Elliott Almond that appeared in the Knight Ridder/Tribune News Service. He told Almond that he asked his coach, "'Why are they asking me about Mark Spitz? What did he do?'" he told Almond. Bowman explained to him that Spitz was an American swimmer who was the star athlete of the 1972 Summer Olympic Games in Munich, Germany. Spitz set seven world records in Munich, and returned home with seven gold medals.

Phelps's interest in matching Spitz's legendary performance intensified when Thorpe asserted that no one could ever repeat Spitz's feat. Late in 2003 Phelps signed a new contract with Speedo that showed the company's faith in him: it ran until 2009, and included a $1 million bonus if he matched Spitz's seven gold medals at the coming 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. In the buildup before the Athens Games, Phelps was predicted to become the star American athlete. But he tried not to make any predictions. "If you get caught up in it, your mind will take over and control you," told Litsky in a New York Times article. "I have to make sure I'm in control."

Phelps did not worry about the other problems he might face at the Athens Games. In one interview Phelps was asked if he was concerned that the roof over the new Olympic pool had not been completed with only three months to go before the Games' opening ceremonies. It would not matter to him or to his performance, he told Duncan Goodhew in the Financial Times. "A pool's a pool. Water, lane lines, starting blocks," he remarked. "We are all in the same boat. We all swim under the same sun." Phelps did not match Spitz's record, but he did take home six gold medals and two bronze medals.

Uses rap songs to focus

Phelps is known for his perseverance and concentration in the pool. He swims twenty thousand meters on some days. Kevin Clements, a friend at the Baltimore area club where Phelps practices, told the New York Times's Litsky that Phelps "likes to train. He's never satisfied. Outside the pool, he's a normal guy to hang out with. He likes to tease and fool around with other people on the team, which is natural in this atmosphere. But he's mature in ways, too. He kind of makes training fun."

Rap music helps Phelps focus on his goals. Before every meet, he swims his warmup laps, then changes into a new swimsuit and puts his headphones on for the entire thirty-minute period before the race is set to start. He likes Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Eminem. He also listens to music every day while he drives to practice. "When I get out of the car, the last song stays in my head," he explained to Dallas Morning News journalist Cathy Harasta, in an article that appeared in the Knight Ridder/Tribune News Service. "It's there all during practice, in my head."

His car is a Cadillac Escalade sport utility vehicle, which he bought used with the $25,000 bonus he earned from the U.S. Swimming Federation when he began breaking world records in 2003. His mother allows him to buy something with his winnings every time he sets a new world record. One treat was a 47-inch television for his bedroom. Another time, he installed new subwoofer speakers in the Escalade, to create a better bass sound for his favorite rap songs.

Headed to University of Michigan

Phelps graduated from Towson High School in 2003, but delayed college plans to concentrate on training for the 2004 Olympics. In April of 2004, Bowman was hired as the new men's swim coach at the University of Michigan, which had produced several top athletes in the sport over the years. Phelps was not allowed to swim for the school because he had turned professional by accepting the Speedo endorsement in 2001. He went out and bought two U-M caps for himself and for Bowman, however, and planned to enroll there as a student so they could continue to train. In 2004 he said that he plans to swim for another ten years.

In his spare time Phelps likes to play video games. He makes appearances for Speedo and also serves as the national spokesperson for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Later in life, he has said, he would like to have a career in either sports marketing or in some technical field. He told Goodhew he hoped his own success as a champion swimmer would boost the sport's profile. "One of my big goals is to improve the knowledge of the sport. Not many people know about swimming and (I want) to be able to take it to a new level and hopefully, in the US, get in with sports like basketball (or) football, where people see (swimmers) on the street and know who they are."

Korea Open 2008

Another "bad boy" title from the badminton arena this year. This time, he is not Taufik, but Lin Dan.

Lys_lhj It was the final day of the Korea Open - Jan 27 and the locals had 2 matches to cheer. The first match was the mixed doubles, Lee Yong Dae - Lee Hyo Jung up against the world number 4 Flandi Limpele - Vita Marissa. I managed to watch the rubber set as i woke up late that day and it was thrilling. Cant believe the Koreans won, i thought it is going to be on the hands of the Indonesians due to their ranking and experience, lol.

Zm1 Next, it was the women's singles match between Zhou Mi from Hong Kong and Lu Lan from China. Again, no winners from China in the women's singles after 2 Super Series.

Up next is the men's singles match, the most dramatic and never seen incident happened in the badminton world. In the first set, it was rather boring and the crowds were disappointed seeing their local man being beaten by Lin Dan with the humiliating score 4-21. The Korean was fired up after absorbing all the tricks and advices by his coach Li Mao, he got used to the drift in the stadium and grabbed the 2nd set. In the decider, both players landed at 20-20 and this was where the drama started. The linesman called a shuttle which was clearly out as in. Before that, there were 4 bad line calls from the linesmen which all 4 favoured the local boy and Mr Umpire from Czech overruled all 4 lines to Lin Dan. But not this time, the Umpire did not overruled and gave the match point to the Korean. 10 Lin Dan shouted at the umpire and Li Mao (Korea coach) stormed 4 out and shouted at Lin Dan which erupted Lin
Dan's temper and he threw his racquet towards Li Mao(it didnt hit him), the assistant tournament referee quickly calmed things down and picked up Lin Dan's racquet asking him to resume the game. Instead, things got even worst, both coaches were involved in the fight, shoving, pushing each other, see who is tougher, hahaha.21

6 Lin Dan even went over to Hyun Il's side and asked him whether he saw that was  clearly an out, instead of saying "yes" or "no," Hyun Il said, "it is up to the linesman," which piss Lin Dan more.

Ld 5 At one part, Lin Dan even wanted to use his racquet to hit Li Mao and his assistant, but was stopped by the tournament referee, the umpire gave Lin Dan a yellow card and the game resume. Lin Dan managed to save match point at 21-21, but in the end, his smashed did not cross the net and gave the Korea Open MS champion to Hyun Il. After that, he slammed his racquet on the ground and that poor racquet was break into half with no handle.

9 To me, i think Lin Dan did put up a great fight after receiving a yellow card and involved in that ugly scene before that, he finished the game which i think it was good instead of walking away and not to play. He even received his runners up medal which i did not expect, hahaha.

Lhi_1 It was a great comeback for Hyun Il and Zhou Mi, both were the no. 1 seed before, and i guess this title will boost their confidence to have a fight in the money with China (Lin Dan, Xie XingFang) and Malaysia (Chong Wei and Mew Choo).

Fhf_cy2 The Men's doubles was won by China's Fu HaiFeng and Cai Yun, while the women's doubles was also won by China Du Jing - Yu Yang.

Malaysia Open 2008

Lcw Lcw1 Malaysia Open had ended with a full stop on Sunday which saw Chong Wei crowned as the men's singles champion after defeating Lee Hyun Il in 3 interesting games.

While in the women's singles, Tine Rasmussen shocked the Chinese camp again, after beating defendinTr_zlg champion Zhu Lin in 3 games as well. Tine, despite twisted her ankle when she was leading 14-12 in the rubber, did not want to withdraw and continue playing her great cross court smash and net play which made her the 2008 Malaysia Open WS champion. Bravo!!

I went to the stadium on the 15th and 16th, as i had no class on these 2 days. Again, my intention is to take photos with the players by intruding the players area with my friend, Winnie. HAHA! Our first victim was Anup, the bollywood shuttle, he is still nice and sweet ^^. The funniest part was, when Winnie saw him, it was Anup from far, thus she approached him and wanted his signature, of a sudden she felt, this wasnt Anup and quickly said, "aiya, we take pic lah..." (He is actually Anup Sidrah) Cant really blame Winnie, as i thought he was Anup's friend when i looked at him the second time, coz he looked thinner than before and you know... indians look almost the same, with big round eyes and high nose, lol ~

After that, Winnie compared the pic of Anup 5 months ago with the pic she just captured, the shape of his face - Same, the way he put his hand on our shoulder - Same and the last thing we saw, the way he hold his hp - Same. So both of us confirm that this is ANUP!! We purposely sat at the back of the players seats coz we want to approach Anup again to sign on Winnie's picture, and when he moved near us, Winnie called him, "Anup, sign for me..."  While signing the pic, i asked him, "Why are you so skinny till we cant recognise you..." And he was kindda shocked, "Me?? Skinny?? No, its FIT" swt ~ After that, he sign on his handsome face and i suddenly reacted really big, "Eh!! Why you sign on your face!!" Then he was like.. "aiyoo.. sorry..." lol.

The qualifying rounds werent that syoik obviously, but i still managed to take a picture with Lydia, Boon Heong, Fairuz, Zakry, Rexy, Rashid and Tadashi. We actually met quite a number of players, but we dare not approached, as they looked kindda unfriendly... hmmm... Boon Heong was very handsome without his jersey, he spike his slightly golden hair and wearing that black nike shoes with white shorts, kindda casual "IN." hahaha.

Imgp5230a Imgp5238aOn the 2nd day, it was more fun as most of the top players were there. We witnessed some interesting matches, for example, the XD match between Razif La tif and his partner beat Howard Bach and Eva Lee of the USA in a sudden death game 30-29. Imgp5300aAfter that,Imgp5290a kk-bh's match against Imgp5295a Imgp5299a Joko-Hendra from INA was also another thrilling and entertaining match, where kk fall down 3 times and still managed to grab the point, all of the spectators were shouting in excitement. But they booed and shouted at kk-bh when they lose points, which was really piss off as it may affect their confidence and game. Next, will be Taufik agai nst Park Sung Hwan, another "wow" match which saw Taufik luckily scraped through to the next round. The veteran - unseeded Chong Ming-Choon Eng also performed a great game against the seeded Hwang JiMan and Lee JaeJin by beating them in 3 sets. Imgp5303aImgp5270aImgp5271aThe match between Chong Wei and Hafiz were also quite  entertaining, as the yoyo king Hafiz, played a great match against Chong Wei, showing signs he wanted to throw the yoyo away, lol.

On this day, i took photos with Yip Pui Yin, Razif, Chong Imgp5284a Ming, Mew Choo, ChongImgp5287a Wei, Taufik, Yong Dae and last but not least, the most important person to me, Kien Keat !!! Weeeee... This time, i am not that nervous while standing beside him , haha.

I also met a new friend there, she was Winnie's baddy friend call Alice. She applied leaves to watch MO, can you believe it??!!? Look how important Cai Yun is to her, lo l. She is a very funny girl, she can make you laugh like an orang gila, although she didnt do anything, or maybe you can say i shock sendiri, laughed till i am in tears, god... I really wish she could send me the pic she took with Kien Keat, it w as... the funniest pic i've seen in my life. Thinking about it, i can laugh again, lol.

Overall, i am quite satisfy, at least i get to take photos with the players i did not take during WC, the best was, another Kien Keat's pic, hahaha.

Although kk-bh lost in the 3rd round, but i still think they are great, they can do it with BH building his  confidence and force himself to relax, keep it cool dud...

Next leg... the KorImgp5204aImgp5202a_2ea Open 22-2Imgp5250a7th JaImgp5248aImgp5275an. Imgp5259a_1Imgp5315aImgp5297a

World Championship Finals experience

Imgp4092a August 19, 07 - Act like i am writing on that day alright?? hahaha!! Ok, this is the final day of WC and it wasnt nice, as there were too many people, very crowded and not ma ny players were in the stadium.

We went to the secret place to "hunt" some players, but there was no success. I guess most of them left, especially those English and Danish players, never saw them since semis. But i managed to take a picture with Reiko and her partner. Thats all. I saw Lindan but i wa s late, so i didnt take a picture with him, Imgp4151awhile other players such as, ZhuLin, WangChen, yongDae and his partner, Markis and Setiawan.. etc. Basically all the players who storm into the finals, but i dare not disturb them, what if they lost, they might blame us for disturbing them warming up, lol...

I even saw Kien Keat zoom passed me, but he was in a hurry for an autograph session. I also saw the korean players (name?? i forgotten, sorry ~) were in the canteen, the mixed doubles champion, Natsir and her partner were having a 10-15min autogrpah and photo sessions.Imgp4100a YongDae was crowded with fans when he used the main entrance to enter the stadium, lol... but he still stopped to take pictures with h is fans, i was standing aside watching Yongdae's expression, hahaha!!

I dare not jump in, as it was chaos and crowded, people pushing each other, i just dont like that situation, lol... My parents will shake their heads if they saw their daughter like that, hahaha... Kien Keat's autograph session also caused chaos in the stadium, i heard a guy shouted "DONT PUSH, farker," and an English man's foot got cut and was bleeding while squeezing through the crowd, my goodness...

Things that i dislike is, the people get to smoke indoor, although it was not in the stadium but its still consider inside the stadium, i mean you can go outside and smoke, com'on! Thank god i went for 2 days, if not i would have suffer lung disease.

Before going to Bukit Jalil, i lost my way while taking the Star train, i forgotten to change platform at the Chan Soi Ling station, i think is Chan Soi Ling, i forgotten the name, i know there is this Soi word, lol... I went there alone because we decided to go at different time and luckily i met an angel Malay girl while buying the Bukit Jalil ticket and she was alone too while in the train, so she asked me where am i going, i told her Bukit jalil, and when she saw me did not get down at that Soi station, she told me that i should change sides and i was like "oh my god!!" So i get down at the Maluri station and asked to guard and met another angel, a Chinese girl who is going to the stadium too, so we went together, she is a BaoChunLai fan, hahaha...

I didnt really had fun on the final day, as i was worrying of my Semantics exam the next day and literature file deadline. I reached home at 8pm, dead tired but still have to be awake until 3am only went to bed, woke up at 6am... huuuuu ~ ~

But overall, got to take pictures with the players on the semis already very satisfied and happy like hell, didnt even thought about it... hahaha...

Everything is back to normal.... ^^Untitled

World Championship D6 experience

August 18, 07 - Supposed to be that date, but i only have time to post right now... It was the semi final of the World Championship (WC) and i had a wonderful moment there!!

The game started at 2pm in Bukit Jalil and it was my first time taking a train to Bukit Jalil and i am not familiar with the route, so i had to wait for Winnie's friend in Masjid Jamek. i waited for this guy for almost 1 hour in the Masjid Jamek station, thank god there is a seat and air condition, while my another 2 friends waited for 2 hours at the Star train station, lol...

Imgp3999aIt took us less than half an hour to reach Bukit Jalil and Winnie was waiting for us to lead us to the stadium. Alright, the interesting part... We witnessed the mixed doubles where China, GaoLing - ZhengBo against Indonesia Marissa - Limpele. We didnt watch till the end as Winnie brought us to a secret place where we get to meet the players and take pictures of course!!

My first "victim" was Jeff Tho, an Aussie player, he looks like Wilber Pan + Rain, i didnt know who is he, but Winne looks so interested in him so i just took a pic with him since he is so handsome, hahahaha!!! XP Then, we met Bin Shen came out from the stadium and Lydia, my primary schoolmate, haha!!

Finally, I get to take a picture with my lovely idol, the one and only Kien Keat, wuahahahaha!! When we were about to leave the carpark and KK appeared. 2 guy friends of ours saw him and they just jumped down from the stairs while me and a friend run down the stairs and ohh yeahh, we get to capture a sweet photo with him.

i have to say i am super nervous standing beside Kien Keat, you know, somebody that you like and love so close to you, there will be a lil uncomfortable and happy crazily when i told him not to give up, my heartbeat so fast as he is so good looking, ohh myyy... flattered!! hahaha... i gave him a small prezee too, what is it?? hmm hmm... SECRET! kakakaka... XP

Then we also took picture with the coaches, Kim Hock and Kim Wai, Kim Hock said that we are so great that we managed to find this place, lol.. sounds sarcastic, hahaha... And then Anup the tall Indian player, he is so sweet ~ ~ haha, then ZhengBo, he is so serious, Mew Choo, she is very feminine, haha, Limpele, Sony, also very friendly, he stopped warming up to take pictures with us, Hendrawan, Sony's coach, Choong Hann, the Japanese doubles players - Ikeda & Shuichi who had beaten kk-bh in the quarter finals, they are so cute, hahaha, my first badminton idol, Imgp4033aImgp4038a_1Wan Wah, very smiling papa, Chun Lai, good looking young man and last but not least, Wee Kiong, the mixed doubles champion junior player, he is so blur, lol... He didnt know he is so famous that so many people eager to take pictures with him, hahaha... He gave a sign "Wahh!" hahahaha...

i also managed to capture KK's car, so clean and shiny, Vita Marissa, Gao Ling and some players on court... My RM53 ticket is to take pictures with the players, lol... hahaha!! We only witnessed the 2 MS and 2 MD, sadly, Malaysia lost...

We left the stadium at 7pm and I reached home at around 830pm. We did not eat anything there as we were so busy taking photos and checking out players in the secret place... hahaha...

It was fun but not really excited as Malaysia lost so there was nothing for us to cheer... But it was worth it, because of KK, hahaha!!

Thanks Winnie for bringing us to the so call secret place, hahaha... if not we wont get the chance to meet the players so closely and take pictures of course, no wonder you went for so many days... hahaha!! "Thanks for the memories by Fall Out Boyz" Imgp4013aImgp4020aImgp4023a Imgp4024aImgp4064a_1

Fantastic ManUtd

Manchester_united April 11, 2007 - "What a match and What a goal !" It was an amazing Manchester United against Roma match this early morning ! ManUtd scored 7 goals, while Roma only managed to score once ! How on earth ManU can scored SEVEN goals ! Roma is not a weak team as well !!

Last week, Roma won ManUtd 2-1, but it was a different situation today. They trash and show no mercy towards Roma. On this stage, every team should be very strong and ManU can score 7 goals was unbeliveble! But we have to believe it ! haha...

Among this 7 goals, i think Carrick's goals were the best. The ball actually curved before flying into the net. Three minutes later, Rooney scored the second goal for ManU, then followed by Alan Smith, after that Cristiano Ronaldo before ending the first half. First half already 4-0, what is going to happen on the second half ? haha... INTERESTING !

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the second game first, then another super goal from Carrick. The last goal from ManUtd was scored by Patrice Evra.

This shows that ManU is a strong and professional soccer team, they can play extremely well if they want to ! haha...

GLORY GLORY MANUTD !

Ronnie A Cheater ?

121 March 23, 2007 - Cristiano Ronaldo is a cheater? That is so not true ! Middlesbrough is trying to put the blame on him. They cant accept that they lost the match.

If he is a cheater, then the referee is a great cheater too. The referee has the right not to give Ron the penalty, but maybe the ref feels that Woodgate did make contact with Ronaldo so why keep blaming that Ron is a cheater ?!?! It is so unfair to my poor Ronnie ! Just because last time he used to trick his opponents and receive a penalty, doesnt mean everytime he received a penalty he is a cheater, he DESERVED it !

Although not many people like him, but who cares ! He is a great footballer and famous now. Every team wants to buy him over, but too bad, Ronaldo is going to stay in Manchester United.

The boo sounds from the fans is nothing at all. It can be Ronaldo's trademark. So when we hear the jeer or boo sounds, we know Ronaldo is with the ball. Thanks for promoting Ron !

Anyway, Manchester United won so Middlesbrough, you can just shut up and concentrate your next game !

Ronnie's Day

Cr_2Feb 5, 2007 - Hi guys !!! Do you know what day is today? Nyahahaha... Dont know right? Let me tell you, today is my lovely football idol - CRISTIANO RONALDO DOS SANTOS AVEIRO's birthday !!! WooHOo...

Today, Ronaldo is 22 years old but he still looks cute and forever handsome, besides his look caught my eyes, he is also a great, superb football player. He can run like a cheetah, he has a lot of stones in his body, he is tall and etc.

Before the day of his birthday, ManUtd was playing against Tottenham and Ronnie scores a penalty and opening goal for ManU !! From the beginning of the season until now, he had scored 16 goals. Sir Alex targets 15 goals for him and now his manager is extanding his goal sheet.

Ronnie also won the Barclays Player of the Month award for the second month in a row. He is so good until Real Madrid wants to buy him over, but too bad, Sir Alex is not interested of selling Ronaldo.

Ronaldo was born in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. He has a brother and two sisters. Before playing for ManUtd, he plays for Sporting CP from 1999 - 2003.

Happy Birthday Ronnie !!! Muacks... ^^
